Claims Specialist, Medical Malpractice (Naperville with remote work from home options)

The Illinois Health and Hospital Association seeks a Claims Specialist, Medical Malpractice responsible for assisting the Claims and Litigation Supervisors, Senior Claims and Litigation Supervisors and AVP, Claims by processing claims documents and maintaining claim files, processing correspondence, preparing reinsurance reports, processing legal invoices, assisting in ascertaining and documenting relevant facts relating to professional and general liability claims. 

The ideal candidate will have a background working as a Claims Specialist, Assistant, Analyst or similar role with an insurance company or working at a law firm or corporation processing claims or legal related documents.  The ideal candidate will possess a desire to work in a hybrid work environment with the med mal claims and litigation team.  

Associate’s degree or a minimum of 2 years’ experience.  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and good interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.  Team player who can manage multiple projects.  Weekly presence in an IHA office is required.

Executive Assistant to the President (Naperville with remote work from home options)
The Illinois Health and Hospital Association seeks an Executive Assistant responsible for providing comprehensive support to the President & CEO and Board of Trustees.  Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Executive Assistant provides executive support in a one-on-one working relationship.  This dynamic position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in a manner that reflects positively on the President & CEO and the organization. 

The ideal candidate will possess a strong service orientation, as well as a desire to partner with the President & CEO and serve the Board of Trustees and hospital members.

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum four years of professional experience is required.  An additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of education.  Experience providing administrative support to C-level staff is required, as well as strong critical thinking, multi-tasking, and verbal/written communication skills.  The ability to work independently, meet deadlines, work under pressure and demonstrate high attention to detail when preparing presentations, agendas, reports, special projects and other documents is also required.  The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, excel in a team and collaborative culture, and be a technology enthusiast with advanced Microsoft Office skills.  Demonstrated experience in partnering with executives and anticipating their needs, as well as the ability to perform additional duties as needed, is important.  Association and/or healthcare background, as well as board experience, is preferred. Weekly presence in an IHA office is required.

Senior Claims and Litigation Supervisor, Medical Malpractice (Naperville with remote work from home options)
The Illinois Health and Hospital Association seeks a Senior Claims and Litigation Supervisor, Medical Malpractice, responsible for the management of medical professional liability claims and litigation for IHA affiliates which include the Illinois Provider Trust, Illinois Risk Management Services and Medical Alliance Insurance.  Manages the professional and general liability claims for assigned healthcare systems, hospitals and physicians.  Responsible for case strategy, investigation and oversight of case action plan in collaboration with client/insured and defense counsel.  

The ideal candidate will possess a strong service orientation and desire to be an integral part of the medical malpractice claims and litigation team in providing excellent claims service to healthcare systems and providers navigating the challenging medical professional liability environment.  

Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years of prior claims or litigation experience required. Juris Doctor with medical malpractice litigation experience preferred.  Knowledge of Illinois law and insurance principles a plus.  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.  Must possess and exercise analytical and critical thinking skills and be a team player who can manage multiple projects. Routine travel within Illinois is required. Weekly presence in an IHA office is required.
